Cover reveal for My Tokyo Summer! Out on July 7th 2026!
I'm thrilled to reveal the cover for MY TOKYO SUMMER! The story is based on my own life-changing experience of traveling to Japan for the first time as a student, and the friendship that blossomed there with my penpal Yuuko. This graphic novel is a testament to the power of comics to bring people together despite distance and language barriers. Illustrated with gorgeous art by Utomaru, MY TOKYO SUMMER will be published on July 7, 2026 by Scholastic!
Shoujo Manga and Beyond talk at Angoulême International Comics Festival!
I’m late to posting this, but wanted to make mention of what a fabulous time I had at the Angoulême festival. It was wonderful to connect again with friends in our international comics community (many of whom we hadn’t seen in-person since 2020!). It was especially an honor to join Fusami Ogi and other esteemed lecturers on a panel called Shoujo Manga and Beyond. We each had our own presentation related to shout manga and it was a very broadly ranging discussion, which was fitting since the influence of shoji manga has such a broad and global range. I hope to attend again soon!
